Beginners CrossFit Competition

Registration is open for our 7th Annual Beginners CrossFit Competition. For those of you that love the competition, but are new to the game, this competition is just for you! This year we’re holding it a month early, on May 4th, to beat the heat. So, may the 4th be with you!

Register early for the early bird discount, as the price increases April 1. This is loads of fun with vendors, food, beer, and activities for the kiddos! We also have moved into a larger facility, with double the space.

There will be 3 WODs for everyone, plus a Floater (a 4th workout that you can do at any time during the competition). There will be NO advanced movements, such as pull-ups, handstand push-ups, handstand walks, ring dips, snatches, muscle-ups, etc. You can expect movements like, clean & jerks, running, kettlebell swings, front squats, box jumps (or step-ups), rowing, sit-ups, and lunges.

There will be a mandatory meeting at 7:30am so you should arrive by 6:30 to allow time to set your area up before the meeting. The first heat will start at exactly 8am and we should be finished by noon.

Feel free to bring tents, chairs, coolers, and as many friends and family as you wish!
If you have placed in one of our previous competition, please be considerate to the other competitors and do not compete (unless you placed in the Beginners Division and are not competing in the Intermediate Division).

Sign up in March for the discounted rate of $65. April 1 the price increases to $75. April 22 the price increases to $85 and there is no guarantee you will get the correct shirt size. So, sign up soon!

There will be no refunds. However, you may move your registration to someone for a $25 fee, until April 30.

HERE ARE THE WODS!

WOD 1:

4 rounds:
24 kb swings
24 goblet squats
(Beginners 35/26, Intermediate 53/35)

WOD 2:

In 13 for men/15 min for women:
1 mile run, then
Amrap Clean & Jerk
(Pick your weight. More weight = more points)

WOD 3:

14 min amrap:
2,4,6,8…:
Lunges
Burpees
Abmat sit-ups
(Beginners 65/45, Intermediate 95/65)
Floater (do any time during the day):
5 min to complete 1 rep max Back Squat

*For WOD 2 and the Floater, there is no designated division for the weights. However, you will be placed among your correct division for scoring, based on how you perform.
